Ryusei | 100 days

Ryusei is 100 days old!  And he celebrated his Baek-il milestone with a photography session in the studio.
This celebration came about in Korea because in the past before modern comforts and medicine, infant mortality rates were high, and if the baby survived past 100 days it was cause for celebration that the child had overcome a very fragile period.

Ryusei has Japanese and Korean heritage and for many families, the 100th day is an important day to celebrate!

Many families dress their children in traditional outfits to mark the occasion and Ryusei wore his Japanese Hakama for some his 100 day photographs well.

Thankyou, mum and dad, for giving me the opportunity to learn so much about your family culture and heritage.  It was such a pleasure!
